Hiroyuki Arakawa’s “Talking Zen”, (2006) reflects his deep connection to Buddhist philosophy and the natural world. Through his considered approach to photography, Arakawa invites us to slow down and discover meaning in moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.

Presented as part of The Art of Conversation at The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair, Talking Zen belongs to the exhibition’s Between Leaving and Staying conversation. It offers a moment of reflection among works exploring memory, departure and the connections that remain with us.

Exhibition Insight
Inspired by the chance encounters and exchanges that take place within great hospitality spaces, The Art of Conversation brings together twelve contemporary artists and asks what can happen when works with different histories, personalities and visual languages meet.

Like the people who cross paths within a hotel, each artwork arrives with its own history, character and perspective. It is what happens when they meet that becomes the exhibition.

We arrive as ourselves but can leave seeing something differently.
