Between Leaving and Staying
Sometimes we need to leave somewhere, or simply see it from further away, before we understand what it means to us.
Through double exposure, cinematic photography, film stills and monochromatic printing, five works explore the pull between belonging and elsewhere.
Juliana Vasquez’s Horse blurs memory and imagination. Danny Chan’s cityscapes hold the anticipation of leaving and the reasons to stay. Sasha Nathwani’s End of the Line captures a fleeting cinematic moment, finding perspective at an extraordinary distance. Hiroyuki Arakawa’s Talking Zen strips away colour to reveal the quiet drama of nature.
Together, they take us on a journey without leaving the room.
Some places we leave behind. Others stay with us, long after we’ve gone.
