Unfiltered moments

Perhaps because he has walked in both worlds; as the frontman of the 1980s pop band, the Passion Puppets, his immersion in the artistic community afforded him a rare vantage point—one where he could connect deeply with his subjects. After transitioning from music to photography, Burmiston started capturing portraits of fellow artists, became the official photographer for artists like Kylie Minogue, Boyzone, East 17, and the Spice Girls, leading to commissions from music magazines such as Echoes, D.J., Top Of The Pops, and Smash Hits. Beyond his commercial work, Burmiston has contributed to charitable causes. In 2020, he launched “Take A Moment,” a personal exhibition aimed at raising awareness for mental health, featuring photographs of celebrities with their eyes closed to capture a sense of calm and vulnerability – featured in the National Portrait Gallery and annually on Piccadilly Lights. For the first time ever, Burmiston’s work will be available in limited editions, making this a rare opportunity to own a piece of his distinctive portfolio.
