Damian Rimmer

King Protea, 2025

Price range: £265.00 through £365.00 £

Damian Rimmer’s “King Protea” (2025), combines photography and digital artistry to create a striking interpretation of one of nature’s most extraordinary flowers.

The King Protea protects its developing flower within an armour of tightly layered bracts, gradually opening to reveal the beauty within. This remarkable natural structure becomes a metaphor for the ways we protect ourselves before feeling secure enough to reveal who we are.

Presented as part of The Art of Conversation at The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair, King Protea contributes to the exhibition’s Habitat, Protection and Belonging conversation, exploring the delicate balance between strength, vulnerability and the need to feel safe before we can flourish.

An exploration of protection, vulnerability and the beauty of revealing ourselves.

Exhibition Insight
Inspired by the chance encounters and exchanges that take place within great hospitality spaces, The Art of Conversation brings together twelve contemporary artists and asks what can happen when works with different histories, personalities and visual languages meet.

Like the people who cross paths within a hotel, each artwork arrives with its own history, character and perspective. It is what happens when they meet that becomes the exhibition.

We arrive as ourselves but can leave seeing something differently.
