Hiroyuki Arakawa

Kegon Falls, 2014

Price range: £2,500.00 through £3,200.00 £

Hiroyuki Arakawa’s Kegon Falls (2014) captures one of Japan’s most celebrated waterfalls, transforming the immense force of falling water into an image of remarkable calm and contemplation.

Guided by Buddhist philosophy and a deep reverence for nature, Arakawa’s photography invites us to consider the passage of time, the movement of water and the quiet beauty found in impermanence.

Presented as a centrepiece of The Art of Conversation at The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair, Kegon Falls belongs to the exhibition’s Crossing the Threshold conversation, positioned between Zoë Lower’s Rising from the Abyss and Tempest of a Woman. Together, the works explore water, transformation and the boundaries between the familiar and the unknown.

An exploration of stillness, movement and the extraordinary power of the natural world.

The Art of Conversation at The Chancery Rosewood

Exhibition Insight
Inspired by the chance encounters and exchanges that take place within great hospitality spaces, The Art of Conversation brings together twelve contemporary artists and asks what can happen when works with different histories, personalities and visual languages meet.

Like the people who cross paths within a hotel, each artwork arrives with its own history, character and perspective. It is what happens when they meet that becomes the exhibition.

We arrive as ourselves but can leave seeing something differently.
