Juliana Vasquez

House and Dog, 2016

Price range: £295.00 through £395.00 £

Juliana Vasquez’s House and Dog (2016), brings together two familiar symbols of belonging: a home and the companionship of an animal. Through her distinctive dreamlike photographic approach, Vasquez transforms an everyday scene into something that feels both intimate and nostalgic.

There is a gentle simplicity to the work. A house offers shelter, while a dog represents loyalty, trust and unconditional companionship. Together, they evoke the emotional connections that turn a physical place into somewhere we feel we belong.

Presented as part of The Art of Conversation at The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair, House and Dog contributes to the exhibition’s Habitat, Protection and Belonging conversation. It reminds us that home is not simply a place, but a feeling shaped by familiarity, affection and the relationships that make us feel safe.

An exploration of home, companionship and the quiet comfort of belonging.

Exhibition Insight
Inspired by the chance encounters and exchanges that take place within great hospitality spaces, The Art of Conversation brings together twelve contemporary artists and asks what can happen when works with different histories, personalities and visual languages meet.

Like the people who cross paths within a hotel, each artwork arrives with its own history, character and perspective. It is what happens when they meet that becomes the exhibition.

We arrive as ourselves but can leave seeing something differently.
