Richard Journo

Talking Canvas #6, 2003

Price range: £800.00 through £995.00 £

Richard Journo’s “Talking Canvas #6”, 2003, uses words and abstraction to give visual form to our inner thoughts. Fragments of language, ideas and emotions appear to interact across the canvas, reflecting the often unconscious stream of thoughts moving through our minds.

The work forms part of a triptych, with two companion pieces available separately through STYLL Gallery.

Presented as part of The Art of Conversation at The Chancery Rosewood, Mayfair, Talking Canvas #6 offers a thoughtful counterpoint to the exhibition’s Freedom to Be theme. While other works celebrate the outward expression of individuality, Journo turns our attention inward, exploring the private thoughts and emotions that shape who we are.

An exploration of the thoughts that shape our inner world.

Exhibition Insight
Inspired by the chance encounters and exchanges that take place within great hospitality spaces, The Art of Conversation brings together twelve contemporary artists and asks what can happen when works with different histories, personalities and visual languages meet.

Like the people who cross paths within a hotel, each artwork arrives with its own history, character and perspective. It is what happens when they meet that becomes the exhibition.

We arrive as ourselves but can leave seeing something differently.
